How should I calculate the appropriate tip?

If you’re pleased with your guide at the end of your tour, we recommend tipping around USD10 per day for a group of 2. For a group of 3, we recommend an extra USD5 per day (2 kids should count as 1 person). For groups of 7 or more, we recommend USD30 per tour day. You should then hand the amount over to the guide at the end of the tour in USD or its equivalent in rupees.

For 1 time guides present at attractions, we recommend USD3-5 per person.

At restaurants, a 10% tip is adequate.

Hotels usually have a collective tip-box, which you can use at the end of your stay to leave USD1 per day of stay, excluding the luggage boy and in-room dining.
