- Every individual, regardless of their nationality, travelling to Sri-Lanka needs to acquire a visa.
- Travelers to Sri Lanka are advised to obtain their e-Visa at the Sri Lankan Online Visa Application portal.
- You may apply for your e-Visa no sooner than 90 days prior to your planned arrival date in Sri Lanka.
- This visa is valid for the duration of 30 days from the time of entering Sri Lanka.
Fees
- The fees are USD 50 per person.
- Children below 12 years of age are exempted.
Visa-on-arrival option
- You may still opt for the option to get your visa at the airport, after you’ve arrived.
- In this case, we advise that you carry cash on hand ($55 per person, children below 12 years old are free of charge), as card payment options may sometimes be unavailable.
- However, we advise against the visa-on-arrival option to avoid queuing at the airport.
- On-arrival visas are not applicable for nationals of Afghanistan, Syria, Ghana, Nigeria, Pakistan, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, North Korea, Myanmar who are required to apply for a visa through the “Head Office of the Department of Immigration” in Colombo – Sri Lanka, through a local representative/sponsor.
